Jay's Story

My name is Jay Huynh and I am eleven years old. I accepted Jesus when I was nine years old. Before I accepted Jesus, I did not understand why I worshipped God or why I should believed in God, either. The reason I accepted Jesus was because I wanted to be saved and to learn more about Him.

A while after I accepted Jesus, I was playing an online computer game. A person playing the game said that Jesus was pointless and that believing in him was stupid, but I started talking about hell and what would become of non-believers.

Now, I read the Bible everyday and I know more about God and His word. I also pray every day for the world so that one day many people would believe in Him and for Him to help them. Before I fully accepted Jesus, I always wanted to become a firefighter, or a police man, and I also wanted to become part of the military. I understood that these things could save people’s lives, but it couldn’t save them when they are in the after-life. Then, I decided to be a pastor like my dad.

The school I go to now gives me the chance to talk about God to my friends. Without God, each of us would not have a purpose on Earth. God loved us so much that He sent his one and only son to die on the cross for us so we can live.

This is my favorite verse in the Bible. I have also learned to say it in Vietnamese, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only son, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16.
